Value that carries its own rules. It knows where it came from and what it may be spent on.
A unit of value that carries its own rules.
An intelligent, autonomous value unit with its own resource-distribution ecosystem. Value that knows where it came from and what it is for, instead of a number that forgets both.
The problem it addresses
Distributing resources in an organization without a head office needs a unit that can hold a rule. Otherwise every distribution is a negotiation, and negotiations favour whoever is loudest.
How it works today. Money is anonymous the moment it moves, so intent has to be enforced by whoever happens to be holding it.
What would change. The unit carries its conditions with it, so resources meant for a purpose can only serve that purpose.
Why the rest depends on it. Resources following delivered work needs a unit that can express the rule. Otherwise it stays a promise.
Where this stands
The least public part of the system. Drayker has internal material on the economic ecosystem, and what is public is the reasoning on the Economy page rather than a specification. It overlaps a gap the DAF has too: the federative point mechanics are unspecified as well, and whether these are one problem or two has not been settled. Settling it is itself worth doing.
The internal material describes a possible economy. It demonstrates no implementation, no monetary policy, no liquidity, no audit, no financial governance and no capacity to sustain anyone’s income. It is worth being exact about the order of work here: the first validation is an accounting one, not a monetary one. What comes first is a transparent record of contributions, needs, decisions and accountability. Not a unit that moves. And Dk optimizes none of it until the human rules have been written down by people.
Nothing described here is implemented. This repository exists so that the first document about it has somewhere to live and someone can argue with it in public.
Scope
- Autonomous value unit
- Resource-distribution ecosystem
- An accounting record before any unit that moves
- Part of the value management ecosystem — the documented whole where funds, categories and the tree of causes give the unit its place
- Relation to DAF federative points
- Rules travelling with the unit
Not in scope
- A token, a currency, an investment or a promise of return.
- An operating distribution of resources of any kind.
- Any claim about income, support payments or sustaining anyone financially.
- Automated allocation by Dk before the human rules are written down.
How it fits the whole
How value would carry its own rules — the unit at the end of the chain that starts with a delivered function.
The economy of Drayker is designed so that what someone delivers is what gives them standing. The value unit is the instrument of that: it overlaps DAF federative points, and it would be what funds distributed support. Every project and application carries a fund, and the Dk manages funds by category and cause, allocating donations and surpluses where they were meant to go. Value that knows where it came from and what it is for — instead of a number that forgets both — is what lets the ecosystem reward delivered work without rebuilding the hierarchy it replaced.

First functions
These are concrete and unclaimed. Any of them can be opened as an issue and delivered by one person.
- Specify an experimental ledger of contributions, needs, decisions and accountability: who takes part, what the unit of record is, who reviews it, and what ends it. This is deliberately an accounting exercise, and it comes before everything else here.
- Argue whether this and DAF points are the same problem.
- Model one distribution rule end to end.
- Write down what the unit must never allow.
How to contribute
Read CONTRIBUTING.md
and GOVERNANCE.md in
the organization. In short: open or find an issue, say in the thread that you are taking
it, branch as fn/<issue-number>-<short-name>, and open a pull request against
master. There is no separate review branch.
Participation is voluntary and implies no compensation, employment or future claim.
